Netball

The netball team started 7 years ago as a drunken rant from a few girls who reminisced about playing in school all those years ago, not all of us had had a good experience of sport at school, so we decided to make it as fun as possible. Sharky a local with our sponsor’s; the plough, took the first step of hiring us a court. Finding free courts was difficult and many a time we played on junior basketball courts, (including ones we had to jump walls to get at!!) A year later the Cowboys were clever enough to spot our outrageous debauchery, and invited us into their madness!

We have since grown to 2 teams in Avon League; in Div 7 and 10.

And have 2 qualified umpires, and 6 in training, and 1 qualified coach with 3 more in training – all financed by our kitty.

NEW PLAYERS EXTRA WELCOME DURING SUMMER!!

To find out more about our philosophy and ethos read the Welcome Leaflet which introduces The Club to new members.

Training - It’s our silly season as Netball is a freeze ya tits off sport, so in the summer we can let our hair down a bit. Thursday nights at St Paul’s Academy 7 pm Sharp! (Allowing for stretching and berd like weekly catch up) All welcome!!

From September 2nd training will be 6.30 – 8pm, concentrating on Saturday league matches, because of this it is harder for new players to get full training sessions.

Fixtures to follow soon
