Cricket

Starting in 1993 we now have four cricket teams: three league teams playing in the North Somerset League and a friendly Team.

“The diversion of cricket … upon days when men ought to be busy, and in the neighbourhood of a great city … is not only improper but mischievous in a high degree; it propagates a spirit of idleness and draws numbers of people from their employments, to the ruin of their families.”

Gentleman’s Magazine Vol. 13 (1743), pp486

To find out more about our philosophy and ethos read the Welcome Leaflet which introduces The Club to new members.

Easton Cowboys Vrs. Egg Heads

It has been sometime since four of our brave boys from the cricket team went off to film an episode of Egg Heads for the BBC. Since their return one of them has mysteriously gone missing amidst rumours that it has something to do with the final question. Find out for yourself when the episode (103 of 140) is aired on Wednesday at 6pm on BBC 2. If you are worried that it will be a bit scary, or you think it will be like watching the Ring and you will die shortly after having seen it, get down to The Plough and watch it among friends. What is...

Clash Of The Titans

Sunday the 8th of September at The Rose Green Center on Gordon Road. The Cricketers Sunday League Team take on The Blagdon Blades in the last game of the season, a win will guarantee promotion to the dizzy heights of division one and possibly the League Title ( depending on the difference in net run rate between Us and the Old E). You have my word it will be a day to remember. The game starts at 1.30 pm and the bar will be open all day and evening. It would be great to use our home advantage by having as many supporters as possible to cheer...

One Result

04/08/2013 One of the weekends matches escaped the rain this weekend: the Saturday 2s beat Bath Exiles by 2 wickets. Exiles hit 158 with Barny getting 2 for 26. In reply the Cowboys got the runs for the loss of 8 wickets with 3.2 overs spare. Ubberpops scored 47 not out and Gandpa Kelly scored 28. Scorecard DC1 reports thus: The Exiles first innings score of 158 for 6 down, amassed in 3 or 4 sessions between heavy showers, was a bit higher a total than skipper Jeff would have been happy with – and when the Cowboys reply faltered badly at 5...
