As a fundraiser for the 2012 Easton Cowboys Tournament this year the cricket club is running a Fantasy Cricket League.
Just select 11 Cowboys cricketers to score points for your fantasy team according to their batting, bowling, fielding & overall league performances over the 2012 cricket season.
The Cowboys cricketers have been organised into a player pool which gives them a fantasy value between £3 Billion & £15 Billion & classifies them as Batsmen, All Rounders, Wicket Keepers or Bowlers. Each team has a budget of £100 Billion to spend on their 11 fantasy cricketers, & must include at least 2 Batsmen, at least 1 Wicket Keeper, at least 2 Bowlers & no more than 5 All Rounders. One of the players in each team must be nominated as the captain, who will score points at double the rate. Each team may change captain monthly & has the opportunity to make 3 transfers over the season, so the game stays interactive throughout the summer.
Each team entered into the league costs only £10, & from the combined subscriptions 50% will be dedicated directly to the 2012 Tournament; the remaining 50% is the prize pot, funding prizes for the 3 highest scoring fantasy teams: 35% for 1st, 10% for 2nd & 5% for 3rd.
There is no limit to the number of different teams anyone can enter & obviously, the more entries, the greater the rewards all round, so don’t hold back, spread the word & get everyone who you can imagine might care involved!
Although, there is no entry deadline, cricketers will begin to score points from the first league game of the season & continue until the last, so, to have a chance of scoring from the start of the season, team submissions must be received with payment confirmed no later than Thursday 26th April 2012. Any team entered before this date may be changed at will without penalty until then, so there is no reason not to enter a team as soon as you’ve picked it.
