For anyone looking for a change of scenery, why don’t you join the group of Cowfolk heading to Brighton next weekend for a weekend of football and partying?
Nige Walker has brought together a diverse bunch of teams (male and female) for a 5 a side tourament on the Saturday, at the King Alfred Leisure Centre. This will be followed by food and awards at the Porland Rock Hotel just round the corner, and a chance to make new friends / drinking buddies. This will be followed by a fantastic night of bands, DJs and cabaret at the same venue – see flyer. Entry to this is a bargain £5, and will go on into the small hours.

You can also feel good about yourself, in the knowledge that all money raised from the tournament and social will be supporting two good causes:
- The Bishop Bexell Orphanage for children with HIV in Tamil Nadu, India, (a project supported by Nige’s employers Solar Sense)
- The Justin Fashanu Campaign, Brighton, who campaign against homophobia in football.
Most people will be heading down on the Friday, for a warm-up session in the pubs and clubs of Brighton. Quiffey’s band Who’s Afear’d will be playing at the Prince Albert on Trafalgar Street, any Cowfolk feeling homesick for the West Country will be very welcome there.
If time, weather and physical capability allow, there will be a kickabout in a park on the Sunday before heading back west.
The Portland Hotel is doing reduced room rates for any Cowfolk attending: http://www.portlandrockbar.co.uk/
Nige Walker has also reserved some rooms at another hostel, these may be limited availability so get in touch with him if you want to book one: nigewalke55@hotmail.com
He will also have some idea of which people are going, so contact him if you are looking for a lift.
It’s gonna be a crackin’ weekend, so dust off yer knotted hankies and speedos and come join us beside the seaside, beside the sea…
